CarbonPath
CarbonPath is a carbon credit registry focused on permanently shutting down environmentally hazardous Orphaned and Abandoned Oil and Gas wells.
There are over 3 million of these wells across the US.
Safely plugging these wells prevents methane, CO2, hydrogen sulfide, benzene, heavy metals and other contaminants from affecting air and water quality.
These projects positively impact local communities and create well-paying jobs. Orphaned and Abandoned Oil and Gas wells is the only carbon credit with a Governmental Regulatory Agency proof of completion.

Removing the source of methane.
By removing the source of methane emission we are preventing continuous GHG leaking into the atmosphere and avoiding centuries of pollution.
Future-proof
Leakage for the regulated process for properly plugging and abandoning an O&A wellbore is zero. The methane emissions from every O&A wellbore are one hundred percent a pollution. No regulatory pathway exists to re-open an O&A plugged and abandoned wellbore for the express action of re-activating a pollution source.
- The methane emissions from existing unplugged O&A wellbores are never captured, used, or stored for any commercial use or profit.
- The low volumes of each individual wellbore would preclude any future harvesting of methane for some unknown technology.

Go carbon neutral for a brighter future.
You can offset your entire business’s carbon footprint and be a supporter of a greener tomorrow.
